Information about the chair

The chair «Mathematical methods and modeling» is one of the major chairs of M.Auezov South-Kazakhstan State University.

Preparation of bachelors is carried out on specialties 5B060100 - «Mathematics» and 5B070500 – «Mathematical and Computer Modeling», Masters - specialty 6M060100 – «Mathematics», 6М070500 – «Mathematical and Computer Modeling» and PhD - specialty 6D060100 -«Mathematics».

Under the guidance of Professor Sarsenbi A.M. operates citywide scientific workshop «Differential Equations and Applications». Specialties chair of talented young people have ample opportunity to study in masters and doctoral thesis and defend work in industries with high technologies.

The chair has sufficient scientific potential for the training of qualified specialists. The chair has 4 doctors of sciences, 2 Phd doctors, 3 candidates of science.

History of the chair

The chair has opened at the Department of "Higher Mathematics" and "Computational Mathematics". The first head of the chair, during the period 1993 - 1996 years, was Prof. Sadybekov Mahmoud Abdusametovich. In that time the chair was called "Mathematical economics".

In 1994 the head of the chair «Mathematical Economics» Sadybekov M.A. won the Youth Award RK.

In 1995 the team of mathematicians has taken the first place at the first International Mathematical Olympic for students of technical colleges ARIS, Far East, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan in Karaganda. The student Fikina M.A. was sent to Germany by the program «Bolashak», and the student Tazhibayeva M. moved to the Moscow State University of Science and Technology agreement between MSU and KazHTI.

In 1996, at the chair was held the I Congress of Mathematicians RK.

In 1996, the chair was renamed as the "Economic Cybernetics". From this year to 2004 the chair was headed by Academician of NAS RK, D.Sc. Kalmenov Tynyspek Sharipovich.

In 1999, for the first time in the southern region the chair won the Republican Grant for Science: Mathematical modeling of motion of fluid and gas with physical and chemical transformations.

In 2000, under the chairmanship of the corresponding member NAS RK, Doctor of Science, Professor Kalmenov T.S., at the chair was opened the Council of Dissertation for PhD theses on the specialty 01.01.02 - "Differential Equations and Mathematical Physics".

In 2002, Ismailov BR defended his doctoral thesis. The Student of the chair Gavrikov M. won the first place in the competition in mathematics among technical universities in Russia and Kazakhstan. This year a group of students of the department took the third place in the contest among the universities RK.

In 2003, the chair was renamed as "Mathematical methods and modeling."

From2004 to 2008, the head of the chair was Ph.D. Medetbekov Ryskul Ashimalievna.

In the period of 2008-2010 Department was headed by PhD. Zhapbarov Sagat Amangeldievich.

In the period of 2010-2016 Department was headed by Prof. Sarsenbi Abdizhahan Manapuly.

From november of 2016 to the present time the department is headed by PhD. Imanbaeva Aigul.

In 2014, by the staff of the chair was held an international conference ICAAM-2014, in which works are included in the base of Scopus and Thomson Reuters.

A token of gratitude the professors of the university' Fatih' Feyzi Bashar and A.Ashyralyevu for assistance in organizing and conducting the international conference ICAAM 2014.
